Combining Schema Therapy with EMDR workshop

Schema Therapy and EMDR are two very powerful therapies, and these therapies can be combined to create an even more effective way of working with those clients with complex histories.

Who should attend

Mental health professionals who have completed at least a foundational workshop in Schema Therapy and workshop 1 in EMDR.

Content

• Brief overview of Schema Therapy
• Brief overview of EMDR, including attachment informed EMDR
• Which clients to use Schema Therapy and EMDR with
• Introducing the two models to clients and the rationale for using both
• Resourcing
• Setting up target memories and linking to schemas
• Working with modes that arise during EMDR processing
• Cognitive interweaves with modes
• Two-handed technique with modes
• The use of imagery re-scripting as a cognitive interweave
• Practice sessions

This training counts for continuous education credit points according to the ISST guidelines.

Times: 9AM–5PM

Cost of one-day workshop: 260 NZD in 2025 or 280 NZD in 2026
